This past weekend was absolutely gorgeous here!
Our Elsa and Lily had a fabulous time romping with their Border Collie friends. It won't be long until the green turns to brown and gray. Following that, the pups will have fun romping in snow.

Catherine took our pups (the Labs) to visit their Border Collie friends and they all were determined to go for a swim!
But, leave it to this pack of friends, they played in the rain water on top of the pool cover. I just hope the pool cover survives the winter!

Often during the evening, while sitting in my recliner crocheting and watching TV, I suddenly feel a warm chin against the side of my leg.
It's my sweet Elsa, waiting to be seen and cuddled. She is so patient, so loving.
Of course, I put down what I am doing and cuddle my sweet girl for awhile.
There is something so very special about Labrador Retrievers. Their love and loyalty is just so wonderful.

Wendy looked so pretty lying in the driveway last night that I had to snap a picture. No, it's not a black and white picture, but she's so white against the black top that it almost looks as if it is.
We were out for last call before bed and the other pups were still wandering around the yard when Wendy decided the cool blacktop would feel good on her tummy.
Our twelve year old is such a pretty girl. We love our Wendy.

That's Elsa under the old oak tree stump. You can see why she sometimes comes into the house dirty! She's not stuck, the pups just like to dig and play under there.
The stump has become too unstable as you can see from the narrow piece of rotting wood holding it up. It's wobbly and as soon as she came out this time, Daddy filled the hole so the pups can't get under there any more. I'm really glad.
So, the Winnie the Pooh Tree Stump is no longer open for doggie play business.
Life marches on....

Last night the "kids" borrowed Dad's keys to make a Midnight snack run.
They selected steak and whipped cream for themselves and picked up some Pop Tarts for us. We don't eat Pop Tarts, but it's the thought that counts.

For some time we've had one "doggie deck chair" (left) on our patio. The pups share, but sometimes it gets a bit crowded.
Catherine ordered a second deck chair (right) and the pups are quite happy now. If we had room for a third deck chair (we don't!) we would get one. In the meantime, two pups fit on the chair on the left, but now it's rare that all three want to stretch out at the same time.
It's a dog's life here....

Look what Lily brought home last weekend!
Our baby Lily and her trainer/our daughter Catherine are training and showing in Agility at our local AKC dog club.
Lily is a real goof ball so for her to get a ribbon is a big deal! We are so very proud of her! Catherine, you're getting our goof ball under control!

That's Elsa's sweet face. When she wants my attention, she calmly rests her chin on my knee. Of course, I stop whatever I'm doing and make time for cuddles.
She's seven years old now and is such a precious pup.
All three of our dogs are special and are so very different. It's Elsa's quiet loyalty that melts the heart. I wish they could all live forever.

Lily is enjoying a pillow and blanket on the couch as she waits for Catherine to get home.

I have such a sweet smile, don't I, but I got into big trouble recently.
You see, I really love my family. I love my family so much that I sometimes bonk them in the face when getting on a lap for cuddles.
I bonked Mom in the mouth about six weeks ago. I didn't feel a thing because I have a very hard head. I could tell her tooth really hurt then and continued to hurt until Friday night when she was eating a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. I know this to be true because I was watching her eat as I always do.
All of a sudden there was a "clink" on her plate. What could it be? Bacon doesn't clink.
It seems Mom's front tooth caused the clink. I must have cracked her tooth six weeks ago and it finally gave way to a BLT.
Of course, it's a weekend. Mom has a message into the dentist so she can get her tooth fixed.
I didn't mean to hurt Mom. I love her. Mom said I'm lucky I am so cute.... I'm sure she still loves me.

I got out of the car and saw this! It seems Lily left Mr. Turtle outside and he didn't make it across the driveway.
Not to worry, Mr. Turtle is just fine. In fact, Lily came out to greet us when we got home and didn't seem to mind at all that Mr. Turtle has been stopped in his tracks.
I'm not sure which is worse for Mr. Turtle, being under the car tire or being the object of tug a war with the pups.

Our house guest, four month old Tuey, has found our Winnie the Pooh tree.
Our pups have dug out a hole under our old oak tree and think it is all kinds of fun to play in there.
Tuey has definitely made himself at home!

I cleared the deck chair of all of the wood, toys, and towels that Lily had collected there.
There has been so much rain that it was all soaking wet. It doesn't pay to clear the patio because it has rained every day with only a couple of hours here and there for things to dry just a little. Then the wind and rain covers the patio with all kinds of leaves and sticks....
As soon as the pup's deck chair was cleared, both Elsa and Lily claimed it.
We need more deck chairs. We're going to need a bigger patio....
