Our Canine Athletes

Good morning,

Our daughter, Catherine, and our dogs Penny and Erik were in another Agility Trial last weekend.  We were there to cheer them on and take some pictures.
Here is Penny getting a hug from Catherine before their run.
And, they're off!
What a team!
 Then it was Erik's turn...
...Erik is four years younger than Penny, but is moving fast to match her in titles.

Our friend, Erica, was also there competing with Tressel.  They, too, did very well in the competition.
Here are My Honey and Catherine.  We are so proud of Catherine, Penny, and Erik.

All the best,
Lois

I always thought that would be fun. Never did it. But, the little Havanese is suppose to be a great agility dog. Should I dare try it?? lol....debbie

Hi Everyone,

Ricki Jill, the dogs have to be six months old before they can compete. But, they go to the dog club many times before that for puppy classes and just fun times to get used to being with other dogs and being good citizens.

Sherry, it's a BLAST! I'm sure you would enjoy this!

Bob, the "kids" brought home many more ribbons and each reached a new title that day. :))) <-- still extremely proud Mom.

Debbie, small dogs can do this, too. They have lower jump heights that fit them just fine. :) Dogs of all sizes seem to love it!

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by and for your very kind comments.

All the best,
Lois

Hi Lois, Congrats to Katherine, Peny and Erik. Just wondering if anyone ever thought of giving prizes to the human trainers in the agility tests :-)

Hi Lois, i do make a decent red cabbage, but would love to know the way you make it with redcurrants.

Thanks again, everyone for your very kind comments.

There's a question here about currants that had to do with a comment I left on another blog. Here's the answer to the currant question in relation to my Norwegian Cabbage recipe:

It's a pretty easy recipe. I published it here:

http://loishands.blogspot.com/2010/06/norwegian-style-red-cabbage-and-moms.html

I use the currant jelly if I don't have fresh currants. If fresh currants are available, cook down a cup of currants in 1/4 cup water until only 1/2 cup remains, then add to cabbage in recipe.

Yum!

All the best,
Lois

I love to watch those agility trials. It's amazing to see the marvelous connection between the dog and handler/owner.
