The Cacadas are Here!

Good morning,

The cicadas have arrived.  This year's batch isn't the "big invasion"expected two years from now, but they are making their presence known.

We once had a dog who loved to catch and eat them.  They are edible by humans, too, but I'll pass.

They are awake early. No need to panic as they usually fall victim to preying birds (owls, hawks, falcons etc..).

We have discovered our three year old Labrador Retriever, Wendy, loves them! She wanted to stay out all night the first night the cicadas appeared as she feasted on them. Of course, we didn't let her stay out all night. Our two older dogs aren't interested in eating them, but do chase them around the yard.
