Ice Storm in the Smoky Mountains
Good morning,
As we drove into the Great Smoky Mountains we saw that there had been a heavy ice storm.
The branches of the trees were still covered with thick layers of ice and were bent and broken under the weight.
Although the ice sparkled beautifully, the damage to the trees was severe.

Ice storms cause so much damage...but I have to admit the ice is very pretty on the trees.
Ice storms can be beautiful to look at, but wreak a lot of havoc!
Rochester has had 2 severe ice storms in the 40+ years I've been here. I was one of the fortunate ones during the ice storm of 91 - I was only without power for a week!
i have heard tenn. was hit really hard this winter!
I would love to have seen this in person...its been a while since we have had an ice storm though we may get one before the week is out.
Those ice storms really play havoc with the trees!
