Anna stopped home from XU between classes and sat down on the couch to tell me about her day. Erik got on her lap to be sure she didn't leave soon.

I have come to the conclusion that all dogs want to be lap dogs. All Sarah or I have to do to Otti is wink...and he is right there ready to climb in our lap.
