The Painter



Good morning,

This man has a very big job to do...
...as he paints wearing a harness to keep him from slipping into the sea.
You can see his bucket of paint is all tied up, too, to keep it at his side.
And, this last image gives an even better perspective of the size of this job.

He's hard to see, but there is another man at the top of that rope making sure the painter is safe.

These images were taken while Freedom of the Seas was tied up in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.

In the Navy, the bosuns would hang over the side while we were out to sea to make the ship look good for when we pull into port. Sometimes they'd only paint the side that would be facing the pier!
