Georgia State Railroad Museum - Inside Displays

Good morning,

We spent a couple of hours at the Georgia State Railroad Museum, but could have been there much longer if we hadn't gotten there so late in the day.

There were many displays of railroad history inside work buildings at the train station.

What fabulous models! 

American ingenuity, blood, and sweat...

...built a grand railroad system throughout the USA.

 What magnificent machines!

 Most of the buildings had no doors.  The walls and some roofs remained.

 This elaborate smoke stack in the center of the yard where engines were built and repaired was the exhaust system for the work that was done here.  Tunnels from the work areas led to the smokestack that serviced the entire complex.

 This visit is so much fun!
