Train Station Fireplace

 Good morning,

That fireplace in the image above is in the old train station in Savannah, Georgia.
It is in the ladies rest room.  Also note the tile floor.  Quite pretty!

The old train station is now a museum; I'm not so sure this area was originally a rest room.

It's so much fun to visit old buildings.

Enjoy,
Lois

Nice find...I agree...I doubt this was a restroom back in the day!!!

How interesting. I guess there was a remodel at some point, but you'd think when making the museum, maybe they'd put it back to the original configuration.

Hi Everyone,

I am guessing this was once some sort of a lounge area. Perhaps back in those times, the restrooms were outside. ;)

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by and for your kind comments.

All the best,
Lois

That's a fun find. Raises a lot of questions. For me anyway.

Years ago, in winter, there were fireplaces and fires everywhere to keep warm. In this day and age, people couldn't handle it. There would be vandals setting fires everywhere.
