Good morning,
Don't you wish you could talk with your pets and explain things? We are getting ready to go away for a couple of days to visit our son and family in Virgina. We will celebrate a late Christmas with them, then head back home. We all celebrate Christmas on the correct date wherever we are, but we have "reruns" to celebrate with family when we can be together.
As soon as we get the luggage out and start folding clothes to put inside, Penny knows we are leaving again. If only I could talk with her and tell her it will only be for a very short time.
Penny and Erik (you can see part of him on the bed behind Penny in the image above) will be busy this weekend, too. I can't explain it to them right now, but they will be performing (to them it is playing) at an Agility Show at our dog club with our daughter, Catherine. They will be having a great time this weekend while we are gone. They will certainly not be alone.
Oh, to be able to talk with the animals....
All the best,
Lois

Our pets understand lots more then we give them credit for. They probably think they should be able to go along. When our one daughter use to bring their dog here for us to dog sit, she had a little suitcase that said going to Grandmas, it had his toys and his scarves he wore around his neck inside, along with treats and food.
Haha, my dogs do the same thing. They lay on our clothes as we are packing with their sad little faces.
isn't that the truth!? would love to just assuage their fears!
Penny doesn't look at all happy about it!

almost human...enjoy your trip and yet another Christmas celebration
With me, it is the clothes I am putting on that the dogs can "read." Honest! If I am putting on clothes that I would wear to work, you can see the lack of interest. . . "oh, she's going to leave us all day." But if I am putting on jeans, they just "know" I'm going to be around for the day! Crazy, but true!
Don't you sometimes just wish you could take them with you, when you have to leave?
My cats "communicate" with me after I've been gone. They are very good at expressing their dissatisfaction with being left behind! Choco pretends she doesn't understand anything.
