Good morning,
Safety is the first concern at sea so regular drills are held.
The yellow boat is a rescue boat that can be lowered from the ship quickly. As the name implies its primary purpose is to rescue someone in the water. The Carib Baroness in the image above is a tender between Freedom of the Seas and Grand Cayman. We happened to be on a similar tender which put us in a perfect position to get pictures of the rescue boat on the water.
The rescue boat can be on the water within minutes of an emergency.
There are two of them, one on each side of the ship.
I find watching the ship operations to be fascinating.
All the best,
Lois

Very reassuring!
Hopefully they won't have to use it. Glad to know its there and ready if need be.
You had the perfect vantage point. Good to watch when it's only a drill, and nice to know they're there.
It's nice to know the rescue boats are working and well manned! Looks like your having a wonderful trip! Enjoy.
