Hi Mona,
If I remember correctly for this one frequent cruisers were invited to submit nominations for God Mother, then she was selected from those nominated. It is a change from selecting Royalty (Queen of Norway for Majesty of the Seas) or entertainers (Whoopie Goldberg for the Viking Serenade - no longer in the RCCL fleet.)

I had no idea that ships had Godmother's. What a nice thing! It looks like they pick someone very deserving.
