My Honey and I had so much fun at our grandson Isaac's birthday party held at Castle Skateland. Above are Isaac's sisters Kate and Lexi lacing up their skates.
After an hour of skating we all assembled in a party room for some pizza.
Aunt Catherine corralled the gifts.
...while Mom supervised the serving of the pizza.

The cake was fantastic.
This is one of Isaac's friends with tickets he won while playing games. The tickets can be redeemed for prizes. This young man is obviously very good at the games!
Brother Alex, right, was quite serious about managing ice cream distribution.
Then the birthday song was
yelled sung...
...before the best part of all: the opening of the gifts.
Money! Kids make out pretty well at birthday parties these days! Isaac wants to buy an Ipod and he probably got quite enough money to do that and have some left over.
Toys! Nine year old boys love action toys. :)
Auntie Catherine brought a winner!
And, here's an outdoor toy from Grandpa and me.
Isn't it fun to watch the faces of a birthday party for a nine year old? Life can be so good when you're nine!

What a lucky boy to have such a great party. We have an Isaak (spelled with a k) grandson, too, who will be 7 next month.
Looks like Isaac had a fantastic 9th B.day. Our Gabby girl will celebrate #8 the end of May! Love to watch them open gifts...the joy on their faces is priceless!

For those who asked, no, we didn't skate. ;) Both Grandpa and I were busy sitting with kids who weren't skating for a moment or two, supplying quarters for the games, and taking pictures. :)
They are such good kids. :)

Does this post ever bring back memories of birthday parties for my two sons and/or their cousins and/or their friends. I have to admit, I'm not sure I've got the energy for one these days, but it certainly looks like you two did, Lois. Great series!

Nine is a fun age for birthdays parties. It seems so long ago, yet only yesterday that my boys were having parties like this. The thing I remember the most was the noise level....
