Good morning,
These are more images of our wonderful trip to Bardstown, Kentucky, last August.
We had arrived early at the Civil War Museum and the encampment beside it where the actors for the battle scheduled later in the day were living. We were not only invited in to meet them and see how they lived, they gave us a private shooting demonstration.
Of course, there are blanks in these great old rifles.
We were shown how the rifles were gun and shot.
It was so realistic that sometimes they didn't fire, sometimes they did.
The children were also proficient at shooting as children were back in the days of the Civil War.
These are the most generous, kind people. We so enjoyed our visit here.
Even more images to come. I hope you are enjoying our visit to Bardstown.
All the best,
Lois

Pretty cool Lois! Looks like a good time. Love Di ♥
How fun! I have very fond memories of visiting Civil War encampments and old homes when I was a kid. My dad is a huge Civil War buff.
These are great shots of the shots :)))
Have a happy Thursday, sweet Lois xxx
Those old guns are quite loud!! and those uniforms...made of wool...think how hot and itchy they were! AcK!! Reenactments are a lot of fun and bring a lot of good history information. We have one every year at our city park...debbie
Nice post, Lois! It's interesting to take a look back in time.

It would be fun to watch them shooting those old guns. Very interesting!
You really got a lot of good shots there...well worth your visit.
Love your images.
Do you still hear anything after the shots? :-)
This was an other time, the old time.
Thank you for sharing us.
Greetings
Angela

Just peeking in...
It must have been very interesting to watch this historical battle. I have seen from something like that on TV, but I don't know if it was from the same town.
