Good morning,
This is the second part of two parts of images of My Old Kentucky Home near Bardstown, Kentucky.
Above is the back of the home.
The gardens are just beautiful.
Period coaches are in the coach house.
This well was the source of a sad chapter in the lives of the family who lived here when it became contaminated and several of them died in a very short period of time.
After the tour we walked around to the front of the house again to take a few more pictures.
We walked down the hill in front of the house to visit the small law office of the owner of the home.
A great deal of Kentucky's early political discussions happened in this small building.
There are sea fossils in the rocks on the walkway. They are common where we live in Cincinnati, also. The entire area was once under the sea.
This office is definitely not wheel chair accessible.
We walked back up the hill, past the house and the grave yard once more on our way to our car. In the distance in this image you can see a pavilion that is rented for events on the property.
This is the grave of the lady of the house. On the tomb is "Weep No More My Lady." As elegant as the property is, there was great sadness here when so many family members died because of the bad water. Also, there was a family member who mysteriously fell from a second floor window to his death.
And, the last shot looks much more modern. This sculpture is in the middle of the lobby of the administration building where tickets are purchased for the tour. Also, there is a gift shop here that we enjoyed. In fact, we saw some things here that we returned to purchase the next day.
Enjoy,
Lois

Nice tour Lois. We've driven through Kentucky but we haven't taken time to explore.
There are so many interesting places to see.
That is sad that so many people died there...its a wonder the place isn't haunted! Thanks for the tour!
I like the judge office!
i couldn't imagine relying on a well, then having it turn bad before realizing it and losing lives. so sad!
Wonderful tour! They definitely needed a handicap ramp!!
What a lovely tour, Lois!
Bad water... something we take for granted today...puts everything in perspective, doesn't it?
Hope you are enjoying December!
blessings!
Ann
A great tour Louis ... sad about the people though.
Such a beautiful place.
Lovely tour, Lois. Many of the houses we visited didn't allow photos inside the house either. Too bad.
This made a real nice visit! Hard to imagine all the living that went on in such small places as that law office! I often think of the early log cabins and how small they were.
