Good morning,
I'm wandering around Freedom of the Seas with camera in hand so I can show you some of the areas where you can keep in touch or read and relax.
Above is the Internet Cafe. You can log on here using the ship's computers, or you can sign into the ship's wifi with your own computer. Yes, there is a charge for this so if you must contact your home or office, it can be done. I generally wait to use my Verizon air card with my personal computer in US ports.
The library was named for one of the original owners of Royal Caribbean.
This is a lovely bright, yet restful place to relax with a good book.
One set of chairs in the library is on a balcony overlooking the Royal Promenade.
This is the view of the Royal Promenade from that balcony. Lovely.
Enjoy,
Lois

Lois, I'm curious about the words to the right of the various categories of books in the library sign. I tried to zoom in on it but it wasn't clear enough for me to read. At first I thought it might be indicating the number of books in each particular category, but there are a couple that seem quite long. Someday I'd be interested in seeing more pictures of the library and learning some of its details. Will you be aboard ship during Thanksgiving? If so, I certainly hope you send us some photos of the dinner! Happy holiday.
That is a beautiful space. Large, airy, well designed.
Hi Yogi and Kathy,
Kathy: The words to the right on the sign are color coding for types of books that are in the library.
Yes, we will be here for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Lots of pictures coming of the fantastic celebrations on board. The ship is fully booked this week for Thanksgiving.
Thanks to you both for stopping by and for your kind comments.
All the best,
Lois
I'm always amazed at the many different areas of the ship you find to showcase!
The library looks cozy and comfy. I assume one can "borrow" a book while on board ship?
i'd spend time there if it was quiet. :)
love the new header photo!
Pat: Yes, you may sign books out. Of course, you are expected to return the books before you leave the ship at the end of your cruise. :)
Whatever you do because it is so beautiful everywhere in the ship and all you show inside. You get so memorized.
My sweet lady.
I did not always have my camera on my neck at all times.
Soon as I laid it on the table and turned m head.
In a second it was gone.
I was so sad as like you. I had my half way week worth all my pictures.
So never, never lay down that camera even if your on the cafe on computer.
One other girl did that while usung of course both hands to type.
It was stolen also.
Ships are # 1 places cameras are stolen the police said.
They throw away you pictures and sell your camera.
Love your pictures.
I was blessed my son and wife and Grandkids were with us on our cruise.
So he had taken all pictures I had taken.
Made me a dvd when got home.
Yes, TexWisGirl, it is quiet in the library. It's a very good atmosphere to read and rest.
Sparkle, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Just like anywhere in public at sea or ashore or in your own neighborhood you must be careful with your personal belongings. Certainly there are people anywhere who will take advantage of picking up something that is not theirs. My experiences have been much better, though, that lost items are found. My sister-in-law cruised with us and left her small camera in a ship restaurant. She went right back and it was gone. Fearing the worst, she went to the Guest Relations Desk (used to be called the Purser's Desk) where she found someone had turned her camera in to Lost and Found. Most people are honest, but many are not. You need to be careful with personal items wherever you are.

Best,
Lois
Yes, that is truly lovely!
Theses seem like restful areas, but too bad about the charge to use the wi fi. It seems that on such a costly trip, it could be included, just saying that's my own opinion, Lois. The library does seem a restful place and I wonder if it is used by many on board.
Spent some time catching up in recent postings, the on board traffic lights were quite interesting.
Enjoy your on board Turkey Day.
Beatrice, regarding the internet charge, it is quite different at sea where there are no cell towers. :\ Cruising is one of the most reasonably priced vacations you can find anywhere in the world. By charging for the extras that only some people want to use, the basic cruise price for everyone stays quite low.
Thanks so much for your kind comments. I miss seeing your blog and other blogs and will check in Sunday via my Verizon air card.
All the best,
Lois
