Marina on the Ohio River

Good morning,

This is a marina on the Ohio River just upstream of Cincinnati.
It's a beautiful day now and there are plenty of boats in the water,
but it won't be long until many of these boats are pulled for the season.

So pretty all lined up in a safe little cove.

All the best,
Lois

Such pretty photos. We were @ the lake this weekend, and there were plenty of boats out sailing. And I didn't take a single photo! *sadface*

Something about a marina on a river. Hard to imagine.

The Ohio river looks like a sea: it is so huge!

Tha last efforts before the cold weather. It's going to be in the 70's here in our neck of the woods all week. May just get one more ride on the pontoon.

Very pretty! But you're right, it won't be long now before they take refuge from the weather to come.

Lovely shots...there is just something about rivers that appeal to me. It might be from reading Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn so many times.

Is this marina in the place where they hold the Cincy Flower Show now since moving it from Ault Park? Such a beautiful spot and as your other commenters mentioned, on a river large enough to need a marina! I've been paying attention to the Ohio riverfront here in Louisville too. Lots of activity and beautiful bridge shots.

On another topic--do you have any upcoming trips planned?

Good morning,

VP and others: The Ohio River dam system built many years ago has raised the level of the Ohio River for commercial traffic. The river is MUCH higher/deeper than it was during the times of the civil war when slaves were escaping across the river from South to North.

This is only one of many marinas on the Ohio River at or near Cincinnati. Under different ownership, this one was a client of our CPA firm. Pleasure boating is a big thing here and in my younger (less sensible) years I water skied on the Ohio River. I grew up being on the water here.

Faye: I'm not sure if this is the place where there was a flower show or not. I do know the flower shows at Ault Park are GORGEOUS!

We will be going back to sea next month and will be on board during Christmas and New Years.

Rose: Yes, we are in Mark Twain territory all right!

Thank you, friends, for stopping by and for your kind comments.

All the very best,
Lois

So pretty! Hard to believe that November is just a few weeks away and those boats will be gone.

The river looks alive, and those that live at the marina.

Lovely weather you are having! Most boats have been pulled out of the water here. Just a few more to go.

Very nice pictures Lois! They don't pull too many boats out of the water down here for obvious reasons.

Great shots. I love to see the sail boats all in a line like that!
