Good morning,
This image is another one to take us back in time here in Cincinnati. There are cities that still have these, but ours have been gone for a long time now.
I don't remember riding in them, but I do seeing them on the streets when I was downtown with my parents. I remember seeing them lose the connection to the power on the wires above and the driver having to get out and get them reconnected.
This actual trolley car is in the Cincinnati History Museum at the Museum Center. You can go inside and sit down for a ride to nowhere as you take a trip down memory lane.
All the best,
Lois
When visiting my grandmother as a child, we rode the trolley cars. She lived in San Francisco. I also remember walking up and down those hilly sidewalks!! Your photo brought back lots of memories Lois!

I rode the trolley cars in Pittsburgh - they were not as pretty as yours however. They were dirty and not so nice....debbie
ReplyDeleteThis trolley car is a jewel, we once had trolleys here, but they were dismantled a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteI've never ridden one either, but it sure sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteDallas has revitalized their trolley system and kept some tracks going for years (with expansion plans once again).
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to ride on one.
ReplyDelete....my grandmother lived near the Mt. Adams incline. She told me lots of stories about riding the trolley cars.
