Good morning,
A couple of days ago I said My Honey and I love road trips and taking pictures. There is one more thing we like to do and that is EAT!
As soon as we arrived in Bardstown, we headed to The Old Talbott Tavern for lunch.
We have eaten here before so we knew we would enjoy the food and the visit.
The history of the Tavern is an important part of the history of the area.
Notice that among other things, a Bourbon Bar is advertised. We are certainly in bourbon country!
I can just imagine a stage coach pulling up in front of this place and people passing through this door in the old section of the building to enjoy a meal inside.
And, this is the view from our table inside. Except for the addition of electricity, I don't believe the interior is much different than it was when built.
I managed to take this picture before I started eating. This is a club sandwich served Talbott Tavern style. :)
This gorgeous painting of the tavern in the mid 1800's is over the bar. Beautiful.
I hope you're enjoying our trip to Bardstown, Kentucky, with us. :)
