Good morning,
After our lunch at the Old Talbott Tavern we got into the car and drove around the Bardstown area to get an idea of what we would like to do during the next two days here.
This beautiful Trumpet Vine (aka Hummingbird Flower) is on a fence overlooking the Old Pioneer Village at the Civil War Museum.
We will definitely return while in Bardstown. We have noticed on the calendar of events for the area that there will be a Civil War battle re-enactment. Cool Photo Op!!!
If you look in the center of the image you can see the white tents of the actors for the battle that will be "fought" here. We will return to get lots of images and meet the people. The village itself and the battle were both very worthwhile to see.
Back downtown we took more images of the Talbott Tavern from a little further away. There's that handsome man who shows up in so many of my pictures. Yes, he is the Birthday Guy himself. ;)
You can go back in time with a carriage ride around Bardstown, but your driver just may use a modern cell phone. I just loved this! The image is a little fuzzy, but I'm still glad to have it.
This is the tower of the old court house, now tourist center. Those birds up there certainly have the bird's eye view of the city.
Remember this sign? I sure do!
There are quite a number of bank buildings in Bardstown. Some are used for other types of businesses now.
This is the center of the Bourbon World and all that money has to be banked somewhere, right?
Before we knew it, it was time for dinner and we sure found a fun place! Dinner fun and images coming soon. ;)
All the best,
Lois
That Civil War museum is intriguing.
