Vero Beach, Florida to Miami, Florida - Road Trip

Good morning,

This is a continuation of our road trip to Miami.  We woke up in Vero Beach, Florida, and headed South past plenty of cows and electric lines.

Someday there will be a mountain range in Florida.  This is one of many trash hills that are carefully controlled and vented.  Actually, having some height to the land will probably help when hurricanes whip across mostly-flat Florida.

These electric lines keep the lights on in Southern Florida.

Today's trip is much shorter than yesterday and the day before.

Highway architecture nearing Miami.

Downtown Miami on the horizon.

We passed through downtown Miami on the way to Coconut Grove where we spent the night.

After a lovely dinner in Coconut Grove and good night's sleep in another Hampton Inn, we headed for downtown Miami...

...through relatively light morning traffic...

...to the Port of Miami.  :)

This is a view of downtown Miami from the Causeway to Dodge Island.

We arrived at the cruise ship terminal...

...as people from the last cruise were leaving the ship.
This is our destination in Miami:  Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas.  :)  I took this image through the terminal window.
I hope you've enjoyed our road trip from Cincinnati to Miami as much as we enjoyed the trip and taking the pictures. It has been really fun having you along and all of your comments!  Thank you so much for taking this journey with us.  Come along and cruise with us, too.  :)

If you are interested in cruising and cruise ships, I have a great deal of information about ships, cruise reviews, ports, etc., here if you want to take a look:

  3. Hi Wanda and Debbie,

    Welcome aboard!

Not to worry, you don't need much "stuff." Majesty of the Seas has a very short run and is a perfect trial size for new time cruisers or quick get-away for more experienced cruisers. She has three and four day cruises from Miami to the Bahamas.

Of course, you can sign up for multiple cruises and stay as long as you like. I know someone who does that, right Mrs. Anon? ;)

Later in the summer we are scheduled to be on a different/bigger ship that has a longer itinerary so I'll have more ports in which to take pictures.

I've got a couple of pictures of Nassau coming tomorow as soon as I write a little text to go with them.

I'm also very happy knitting and crocheting and taking pictures so I can eventually get those patterns here. :)

Thanks for stopping by and I am checking in to see your blogs, too. I really enjoy the creativity and appreciate the friendship of our circle of blogging friends.

    Very best,
    Lois

  5. I enjoyed your roadtrip south, and I know the cruise will be delightful. We've only been on one cruise several years ago that left out of New Orleans and into the Caribbean. Have fun!
