Good morning,
We are home and enjoying our kitchen again. I've been snapping a few pictures and am sharing some from the last three nights.
Above is onion soup that I made from scratch. We both agree this is a good candidate to make for company, but it is so time consuming that it would surely have to be made the day before. This is just an absolute favorite around here.
This is my home made onion bread. I've published quite a few of my bread recipes here on the blog. Click here to see them.
The next evening, My Honey prepared shrimp tossed in garlic, dill, and lemon. We served it Norwegian style on my fresh bread with a little mayonnaise.
And, for another meal we had shrimp on our salad of green leaf lettuce, spinach, orange pepper, radish, egg, walnuts, cranraisins, tomatoes, green onions, and bleu cheese with a dash of raspberry walnut dressing. This time it was served with my light whole wheat bread.
These are images I took with the camera on my new Blackberry Z10 phone. Although not quite the same as my Canon cameras, I'm pretty happy with the quality of the pictures from the phone camera.
Enjoy,
Lois
I didn't even read any of the words. I just looked at the pictures. Yu-uuum!
ReplyDeleteLets eat!
Onion soup is always something I "intend to make" and never get around to making. Yours looks delicious!
ReplyDeletethe soup and bread sound delicious!!!
ReplyDeletei know you must love being home...
Mmmmmm. . . the shrimp caught my eye right away. Having grown up on Florida's Gulf Coast, I love seafood, especially shrimp. That salad looks divine!
ReplyDeleteOnion bread sounds delicious...just hearing the word onion makes me hungry. Then if I smell it, I am even more so.
ReplyDeleteLois, I drooled at the food pics and wondering when to make a reservation at your place cause onion soup is a favorite, but never tried making it at home.
ReplyDeleteWow, this post made me hungry! Delightful looking dishes:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone, for the very kind comments.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice, that might be a good idea for retirement. We should open a restaurant of Norwegian-American food with a little shop area toward the front that features wood, knit, and crochet items. ;)
All the best,
Lois
Those are pretty good phone photos. Especially the bread. Isn't it amazing how good phone photos are these days? I feel badly for Nikon and Canon. They keep making better and better digital cameras but their business is declining because phones are so easy and good and ever-present.
ReplyDeleteOK, I'm coming to live with y'all.
