Location Location Location - Smart Neighbors

Good morning,

This is one of our "toy stores."  :)  My Honey makes beautiful wood turned ornaments, bottle stoppers, pens, and other items so we make plenty of trips to this store.  I enjoy wandering around with him and seeing all of the beautiful wood and hardware available for his projects.  I'm not the only one who appreciates the beautiful items he makes. Two days ago I put seven of his turned wood pens in our on line store and all seven were sold within 24 hours.
He has made one more that is in the store now as I type this.  Way to go, Honey!
Very wisely, Hancock's Fabrics is right next door to Woodcraft.  After we are finished at the wood store, I have to take a stroll through Hancock's Fabrics which is one of my "toy stores."  I see plenty of other couples doing the same thing.

One stop shopping for him and for her.  What are your "toy stores?"

Enjoy,
Lois

  1. It's a really beautiful pen Lois. Your husband has a lot of talent at his fingertips. I'd love to see some of his wood turned ornaments. I used to make wooden ornaments years ago and sell them at all the craft shows. For one birthday I got a bandsaw, another birthday I got a sander :) I loved working with wood, cutting out the shapes and painting them too.

  6. Our toy stores are Menards, Harbor Freight, Joann fabrics, and any quilting shop I can find. The thing of it is, we both find stuff we want in ALL the stores. Roger can have as much fun in Joann fabrics as I can...he finds stuff to use for fly-tying. Same thing in quilt shops...

That pen is beautiful--I have a turned wood pen that someone got me. I don't use it because I am afraid I will lose it.

  12. Lately, our favorite "toy" stare has been the Apple store which we usually seek out when visiting larger areas that have one. One of the benefits of our moving to Nashua, NH (eventually) is that there is one in a nearby mall! Grenville also used to be a Wood Craft customer whne he was doing his wood turnings.

  13. That pen is a work of art.

You still have a Hancock's? I thought they went bankrupt. All stores in the Southwest closed a few years ago with news that the company was no more! Even though I no longer sew it's sad that there are no more fabric stores anywhere.
