Ault Park, Cincinnati, USA

Good morning,

Today's images were taken at Ault Park last January, just before we left Cincinnati to go to Florida for ten weeks.
It was an outstanding day for pictures and comfortably warm, too.
There's that handsome man who appears in so many of my pictures.  I remember my parents telling me about coming here to the pavilion to listen to dance bands and dance back in the 1920's.

When I was a little girl my brothers and I came here with our parents.  Back then that center section was a waterfall in the summer months.  Perhaps it still is.
My father also had a passion for photography and a deep appreciation for the lovely parks in and around Cincinnati.
There were others here this day enjoying the park and the beautiful weather.  Obviously, this was a responsible pet owner.  ;)
 Beautiful images were everywhere.

This is the view from the top.  I spoke with some ladies walking through the park.  The tell me there are summer dance evenings here at the park again.
I remember being here in the 60's when the entire pavilion was decaying.  How good that it was revived in 1985.
This little girl climbed all the way to the top, then realized she couldn't get out so climbed all the way back down.  I am sure I would have done the same at her age. :)  Perhaps I did.

This area is to the side of the pavilion...
...where there is a plaque and tribute to the man who donated the land for the park.

 What a beautiful place.

 Enjoy,

 Lois

  6. I like to see land set aside for parks and places of beauty. Monroe County (Rochester, NY) has several beautiful parks that I enjoy going to.

  9. Such a lovely post, Lois. Ault Park reminds me so much of our own Garfield Park. Even down to the structures and bridges. We have a lovely conservatory with a sunken formal garden.

Would not surprise me if these parks were created at about the same time; ours also went through a period of decay, and has been brought back from that brink. The nature of life, it seems.
