Heading to Hillsboro, Ohio

Good morning,

Yesterday we left Mowyrstown and are now heading toward Hillsboro, Ohio.

We are out on the back roads of Ohio where we see the small family farms.

I found this old deserted home interesting because of the trailer home just beyond it to the right.  They appear to share a drive way.  Did the red house become uninhabitable so they moved next door?  Or, was the red building formerly a school or church?

 Now we are approaching a commercial farm.  I love the ripples in the road.  We have had plenty of rain this year so the corn looks wonderful.

 Here's a farm house built in the classic federal style.  Often there are additions on the back as the family grows.  I am not sure if that red building farthest from the main house was originally the cook house or if it was built later as a garage.  More buildings behind the brick house appear to be farm buildings.

 Another old barn across the road is tucked into the side of a field.  Or, did the wooded area behind the barn grow out to meet it in the field?

 And, here we are in downtown Hillsoboro, Ohio.  The last time I was here was about 45 years ago.  The town is much the same, yet the only landmark I remember is the bank (not pictured) and the courthouse that I'll feature tomorrow. 

We had lunch at Wanda's picture at the right above.  We have made a point to eat at local restaurants in small towns.  Images of inside Wanda's will come soon, too. 

 The city offices are on the same block...

 ...and across the street is a law office. 

These wonderful small towns display their patriotism proudly.  It is so very comfortable here.
