Our three grandsons range in age from 13 to 6 so we had a separate swim time for them and for our Labrador Retrievers when we visited our friend's home. Today it's the boys' turn.
Erik is patrolling the sides of the pool. He knows he may not go back in until we tell him it's OK.
The dogs were keeping a close eye on the boys.
Alex and Isaac were having a fabulous time.
What a wonderful way to spend a hot summer day. It's hard to imagine it will be getting much cooler soon.
And, as a finale for the boys, here is David's the canon ball splash.
David and Grandpa brought along their radio controlled sail boats. As soon as the boys were out of the pool and Grandpa got the sailboats ready to sail the great sailboat race began.
The sailboat pictures are coming tomorrow. I hope you'll tune in to see the fun when "the boys" raced their boats.
All the best,
Lois

They are having fun, almost like the last harrah of summer for the boys. School started here yesterday for the grandkids.
ReplyDeleteI remember having fun like that in my cousins pool growing up.
ReplyDeleteOne of the happiest things in life is watching little boys in a pool. They have so much fun and laugh so hard! So happy you had this time with them!
ReplyDeleteThey sure look like they are having a great time! I spent quite a few afternoons watching my grandson swim in the pool this summer. He loves it!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be more fun to put all the dogs and kids together in the pool. . . that would bring on a lot of laughs!!!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteYes, they are having a fabulous time and will talk about this for a long time to come.
It was all about safety to have separate swims for dogs and boys this time. The reason we didn't have the boys and the dogs in the pool at the same time is the dogs are heavy and will want to play with the boys. They will want to be picked up and the two younger boys are not able to hold themselves and a dog up. The two younger boys are still working on their own swimming skills.
David, the oldest, did invite Erik into the pool and they played together for awhile. He found out how hard it is to play with a large dog in the deep end of the pool. ;)
Thanks so much, everyone, for stopping by and for your kind comments. Tomorrow will be sailboat day at the pool. We'll see boys of all ages with their boats. ;)
Best,
Lois
I see the boys and the dogs have a lot of fun.
ReplyDeletehow great that the dogs mind you so well and let the boys have their time too. :)
ReplyDeleteYep, it looks like they are having all the fun.
ReplyDeleteLovely boys and dogs....Erik is a very common Norwegian name for boys, but not for dogs. And, beautiful house and pool, unfortinately we do not have a climat for outdoor garden pool. The summers in Norway are too short and cold and too rainy....
ReplyDeleteLovely boys and lovely dogs!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing kis have such a fun time together. I think I can hear them laughing and yelling to each other. For sure I heard the splash of the canonball!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a ton of fun for all the boys!! How cute! I love to listen to them say to each other "watch THIS"...our girls are the same way...debbie
ReplyDeleteGee, your grandies are lucky you have a friend with a pool - it looks fantastic! Funny to think you are finishing summer and we are just waiting to head into spring. We are getting some lovely fresh, clear days now. I wish it could be spring all year around.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Joolz
The pool has such sparkly blue water...looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteThe boys look like they had every bit as much fun as the dogs did. I am impressed that the dogs are so well trained that they stayed out of the pool while the boys had their turn. That's a hard thing for a lab to do!
ReplyDeleteI´m sure the boys and the dogs had a really nice time!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! Your header is gorgeous!
I had two big leonbergerdogs before and they also loved to swim!
I really envy them! That is a lot of fun! Can't wait for the boats...
