Walking Among the Magnolias in Eden Park - Cincinnati, USA

Good morning,


The image in the header and these images I have to share today were taken in the Magnolia Planting section of Eden Park in Cincinnati.
 Every year we look forward to this magnificent display of color...
 ...and hope a spring storm doesn't knock the blossoms down before we can enjoy them.

 It seems I see this handsome man out taking pictures often.

 There he is again on the bottom left of this image.


 Goodness,  I think he sees me, too.  ;)  As we often do, we took pictures of each other...
...then went back to capturing all these gorgeous blossoms with our cameras.

As a post script to this day, this was the ONLY sunny day the week we took these pictures.  And, as I write this a few days after they were taken, we have had severe storms that have knocked many of those pretty blossoms to the ground.  We were just plain lucky to get there on the right day this year.

    the blossom here is beautiful too, such a shame the storm uprooted some of these precious trees.

    How pretty! What a special park. We call that particular type of magnolia a "tulip tree" here in Alabama. I love the size of them! they must be very old. It looked like the date was from the 1960's maybe?

    your magnolias are so different than those we have in Texas. ours have huge green leaves and giant white blossoms.

    Yes, this was a photographer's wonderland. What a fun day it was!

    I've learned in that area of the park that there are many, many different types of magnolias. The big ones that some call tulip trees are especially impressive when in bloom. We have one in bloom in our front garden. It is much smaller, but still very pretty. I have a picture of that coming on a future post with other garden images.
