I wish I could share the wonderful aromas with these images today.
I planted this Common Lilac Bush in front of our home about 30 years ago and it never ceases to delight us each Spring.
Each of these images is even more beautiful when enlarged. Just click on them. ;)
Enjoy!

I'm jealous! I have a wall of lilac bushes across the fence line on one side in my back yard and all I have to date are buds - long way from big blooms! Mid May is when they usually bloom here.
ReplyDeleteI can smell them :)
ReplyDeleteWe have one lilac bush here and I can't wait until it's in full bloom.
Oh... I can almost smell them!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Ann
SO beautiful! thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful colors! I can almost smell the lilacs from here.
ReplyDeleteYou are a bit ahead of us. I was surprised to see ours just starting to show color today. It is Spring!
ReplyDeleteHi Lois...beautiful...one of my very favorites that is always faithful in its blooming !!
ReplyDeleteThe sent must reach to the heavens!!
THank you!!! I love lilacs. I can smell them just from the photos. You just don't find them around here where I live now, but I can remember that wonderful smell from my childhood.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lilacs! We have had an unusual warm week and the spring did a big jump!
ReplyDeleteThe birches are already green, they don't use to be green before in the beginning or middle of May. I see the lilac outside my window has also got small green leaves, so if the temperature stays like now they will be blooming here too soon. It is a wonderful time now!
Years ago we planted a lilac tree... I thought how nice it would be to walk past it every morning when it was blooming. But alas. It never bloomed. It just sits there half dead. I think I'll give up on it and just enjoy your pictures.
ReplyDeleteGood morning,
ReplyDeleteYes, the flowers are so wonderful at home. We are sorry we will be traveling through much of the blooming season this year, but that is the way it is.
Flowers are so appropriate today as I write this. I have seen some of the Royal Wedding in London. How gorgeous! There are those who are not impressed, but phooey on them! I just love pomp and circumstance. What a beautiful young couple.
Thank you so much for stopping by, everyone, and for your very kind comments. I look forward to Sunday when I can log in on my own computer and check into your blogs, too.
Very best,
Lois
The smell is heavenly...mine is done blooming but the irises are trying to start...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous lilac blooms! My little bushes are still bare, but leaf buds are visible. We had them wrapped all winter and the covers just came off. When I looked today I noticed a little pruning courtesy of the moose. Hopefully there will be some blossoms.
