Christmas Shopping in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.

Good morning,

Today we are in St.Thomas, U.S.V.I.  The weather is warm, but not HOT as it is at the opposite time of the year.
We went ashore to do a little Christmas shopping.
There are Christmas decorations everywhere...
...sometimes strung between the palm trees.  ;)
We had club sandwiches and Diet Pepsi at Havensight Mall.
Then on to a little more shopping around the corner at Havensight Pharmacy.  This Santa dances.  Just darling!
Then it was back "home" to our "mother ship."

It's not quite the same to Christmas shop in the tropics, but the Christmas spirit is surely here.  We bought My Honey a new baby camera.  We had made most of our purchases at home in Ohio before we got here and the gifts will be delivered at the appropriate times by our daughter, Catherine.

I remember my first visit here in St. Thomas many years ago.  I got the biggest kick out of the holiday decorations strung between and among the palm trees.  It's still quite pretty, especially at night.

I hope you enjoyed stopping in St. Thomas with us today.  It's quite lovely to be here at this time of the year.

Very best,

Lois

  2. I think that it's wonderful to be able to experience Christmas in a different place. I have always dreamed of renting a cabin up north in the woods on a lake with a fireplace of course! That would seem to be a peaceful Christmas to me. Enjoy yourself Lois! Love Di ♥

  4. Good morning,

We are hovering outside a US port right now and I have a Verizon connection that comes and goes. I am just so delighted to be able to get on line on my own computer.

Diana, that's a wonderful "Christmas picture" to spend the holiday in the woods in a cabin with a roaring fire in the fireplace. :) My Honey and I were talking yesterday about how it would be at home right now sitting there in front of the fire with the two dogs while watching it snow outside. It's fun to be out here, but there is no place like home.

Thank you so much, everyone, for stopping by.

    Very best,
    Lois

  5. Palm trees at Christmas would take some getting used to I think! I just read back through your trip south and the beautiful decorations on the ship. That tree is gorgeous, and I love all the poinsettas! One thing about being on a cruise ship for Christmas, you will get a wonderful dinner and someone else will do the cleanup!
