"Cruise Ship Formal" Fashions

Good morning,

As promised yesterday, here are images from the Captain's Welcome Aboard Party aboard Freedom of the Seas.  This time I am focusing on "Cruise Ship Formal" Fashions.  What's so cool about what people wear on cruise ships is that just about anything goes.

The above image is of the soloists who entertain before the Captain begins his talk.

The Freedom of the Seas Orchestra provides the music and drinks are on the house.
People with staterooms overlooking the Royal Promenade (see center of image) have their own private seats and an excellent view.
Captain Tor arrives by way of the flying bridge...
 ...welcomes the guests...
...and introduces his senior officers.

Tonight, though, it was the parade of Cruise Ship Formal Fashions that was so spectacular.  I'll just let the fashions roll by as my camera caught them walk past...

Aren't they beautiful!  I just love seeing all of the beautiful dresses.  The guys look pretty good in tuxedos, too!
This last image shows a young man (surely those are his formal jeans) and a Scottish gentleman in his kilt.

For those who eat in the main dining rooms there is a dress code, but there are plenty of other restaurants on the ship if you prefer a more casual setting and food.

Of course, that is what is so wonderful about a cruise ship.  You can wear just about whatever you wish, within reason, of course.

I hope you've enjoyed this fashion show.

Very best,
Lois

  3. Hi Lois, very interesting collection of photos showing different dress styles. Thanks for including the people this time :-) And I was wondering what type of business your honey was involved in that there's a business meeting on a cruise ship - sounds like a great business to me!

  4. What a lovely fashion parade. I will say thuogh that I much prefer seeing other people dressed up in formal fashions to wearing them myself.

  5. Good morning,

Yes, the fashion show on board is always fun. Some really gorgeous outfits and some unusual ones are always there to be seen.

Beatrice, My Honey is a Maritime Marine Engineer so that is why we were on board again for one week for a meeting.

Thanks so much, everyone, for stopping by.

    Very best,
    Lois
