Arcadia Theater Concert

  Good morning,

We are still aboard Freedom of the Seas and tonight are attending a concert in the Arcadia Theater.  I took the image above when we first arrived and the house lights were still on.  By the time the concert began, the theater was packed.
My Honey suggested our seats were where Statler and Waldorf, the two old guys on the Muppet Show who sat and heckled in the theater would likely sit if they were here.  ;)
We weren't here to heckle, though.  This was a very special concert of all of the music talent on board.

Above is the Freedom of the Seas Orchestra who performed separately and as back up for the various musicians who play in the many venues on board.
There were eight or ten...
music acts performing a wide variety of music.
If you didn't know Johnny Cash is no longer with us, you might think this is he in the flesh.  If you closed your eyes and just listened, you would swear it was the real Man in Black.
A musician specializing in Latin music and many others entertained us and then the finale...
...was a great rock band.  The lead guitar was our very own Captain Tor.
Captain Tor's ship rocks in stormy weather and when he picks up his guitar.
The audience went wild when they began playing...
...and no one wanted it to end.
Tor has been playing on board for a long time.
We remember similar performances while we were aboard Splendour of the Seas about twelve years ago.
  Rock on, Tor!
Of course, Tor and the band got a standing ovation.  What a concert!  What fun!

Stop back tomorrow for more fun on Freedom.

Very best,
Lois

Ed note:  While at sea the satellite connection times out before images can be uploaded.  These images were captured and posts were written while traveling, then uploaded in chronological order a few days later when we were back in the USA.  Therefore, there is a lag time of a few days for this one week cruise and the few days on the way home through The Great Smoky Mountains.   - LAE

  6. How fun that the captain is the lead guitar. You had the best "heckling" seats but nothing to heckle. Oh, well, a good spot to enjoy the music too.

  7. Good morning,

Yes, this is a very special captain. We've known him for years and always enjoy being with him. I think he's the best in the fleet.

The ship is wonderful, too. There is always something new and different happening. We will return next month, too, and I look forward to having some great images of the holidays on board.

Thank you, everyone, for stopping by.

    Very best,
    Lois
