Good morning,
If you visited Branson, Missouri, several years ago and go back today you may not recognize the place. This was our fourth trip to Branson.
The first time we visited Branson was about 20 years ago when it was a small town with locally owned restaurants and shops. This shopping area near the lake is new to us this trip. We enjoyed strolling past the shops and stopping to buy some souvenirs.
We returned the next day for lunch. Stay tuned for those images. :)

Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI visited Branson in 2006. What I remember was that we drove through a street with lots of theaters with all kinds of shows. And we were at Dolly Parton’s Stampede :)
ReplyDeleteHi Marit Johanne,
ReplyDeleteThe area where you were was up on the highway where the large theaters are located. We were there during a previous trip to Branson and purposely avoided the area this time. We were not impressed previously by being packed into a huge theater to see a canned show, then rushed out for the next audience to be rushed in. We purposely stayed downtown where we could walk to restaurants and shopping and, importantly, take that ride on the Branson Scenic Railway once again, this time with our friends Martha and Russell.
The images in today's blog were taken in old downtown Branson, near the lake formed by the White River and railroad station. The old downtown used to be just a few blocks of old buildings, old theaters, and old restaurants. Now there is even less of this old area left since the addition of the Hilton Hotels and the shopping area pictured in recent posts. Had we been there a couple more days we would have walked up the hill to some of the old shops and restaurants still there.
It's always so nice to hear from you Marit Johanne!
