Hardy Hibiscus

Good morning,

These pretty blooms are in our front yard near the street.
We have a lot of these bushes in the back yard so I transplanted a very tiny one that had grown from a seed to the front yard several years ago.  Just look at it now!
I kept the bottom branches trimmed so that the "bush" is more in the form of a tree.
So pretty!

    My wife planted bouganvillias in the front yard. I don't really like them. Much rather have hibuscus. Don't teller I said so tho.

    We call these Rose of Sharon here. Is that the same as Hibiscus? In any event, the blooms are soooo pretty Lois. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Loved your visit. xo

    Yes, Nancy. Rose of Sharon is hardy hibiscus.

    Yes, TexWis, they make it through the winter. They are sometimes even invasive because they grow spread so easily from seed.

    Gorgeous flowers and photos, Lois! I really like hibiscus, and have grown some as annuals, but of course even the "hardy" variety isn't quite hardy enough to survive a winter here.
