Celebrity Ship in Sillhouette - St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies

Good morning,

I have only one image today, but it deserves its own post.  This is a Celebrity Cruise ship in silhouette as she leaves the port of St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies.  It is such a beautiful time of the day as the sun sets and the lights on the ship become brighter and brighter.

Enjoy,
Lois

  1. Here, the ships leave in the afternoon and we seldom see them at night.

  3. Mark,

That's because Grand Cayman is a tender port and tendering guests can be dangerous after dark when people can't see where they are stepping. I remember tendering in Villefranche, France, and how beautiful the ship (Splendour of the Seas) looked as we returned at dusk. All the lights on the ship were on - beautiful.

Can you see us out here today? ;) It's pretty windy and we're rockin' and rollin'. It would be very nice to have a dock to tie up here instead of tendering.

    All the best,
    Lois
