Walking the Deck in St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies

Good morning,

Today's images are from my afternoon walk around deck 4 of Freedom of the Seas while we were tied up in St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies.
This is the commercial side of the port.
I get a kick out of these windmills.  I believe it's only about two years since I first saw them here.
It is a looooong walk around the ship.
I'm getting closer to the front of the ship so closer to these cranes moving shipping containers.
On the opposite side of the ship I see a Celebrity ship also in port.  Celebrity Cruise Line is owned by Royal Caribbean so this is a "cousin" ship. ;)
Now I've made the tour around the deck.  I hope you enjoyed walking with me and seeing what I can see.

All the best,
Lois

  1. Hi Lois, yes I did enjoy the deck walk around and did not even have to take a cruise to be there!

  5. neat to see the shipping business. so much trade going on that we don't even think about.

  6. Looks like they park you in a pretty industrialized part of the island. I didn't see much tourism related stuff.

  9. I really do enjoy seeing what you see, even though I don't always comment.

  10. So do you take a daily "flyby" just to check on everything.

On islands where all the fuel has to be imported I bet the windmills may pay for themselves.
