A Short Road Trip on a Snowy Day

Good morning,

This is just a short road trip, but I was able to get so many wonderful pictures of snow along the highway.
We are traveling North from Cincinnati to visit my brother and his wife in Canal Winchester, Ohio.  His wife will celebrate her birthday tomorrow so we are going to help her celebrate a day early.
The snow in the trees and on the ground provided beautiful winter scenes.  Usually, snow only lasts on the trees like this for a few hours or a day at the longest.  This time, it's about three days of snowy beauty.
These are drive-by pictures once again.  I am always looking into the forest to see if I see any animals.  Once in a great while, I see deer.
As you can see, it is a very heavy snow. I took the new header image on this trip.  :)
We were also able to see so many bird nests and quite a few hawks.  I wasn't able to get any pictures of the hawks while traveling at 65 mph, though.
This was an alternate shot for the new header.  The red barn is just beautiful.  Of course, you're seeing a smaller version here than I would use as a header.

Just a few more tomorrow.   It was a bright and beautiful day for taking pictures!

Enjoy,
Lois

  2. Great job on your snowy pictures, and you Header is really gorgeous. We heard on the news last night that we're supposed to get a freezing rain topped off with some new snow. Guess we'll be staying in!!

  4. I really like the last photo Lois. So pretty. I also watch for wildlife in the woods as we drive along. Last night on the way to town we passed several fields and there were herds of deer in each of them. The snow had melted enough for them to nibble the dry dead grass and perhaps tender shoots. Have a wonderful weekend!

  5. Nice drive-bys! Here we often have snow covering the trees for long periods of time as we don't get much wind in the winter. We just had a couple of windy days though so not much snow clinging to the trees.
