Churches of Zanesville, Ohio

Good morning,

Our road trip continues....

We ate lunch at Bob Evans in Zanesville, Ohio.   We could see some churches from the highway so stopped over to take some pictures.
After I took the first picture up there, I took this second one.  These two churches are side by side. The one to the left is Episcopal, the one to the right is Catholic.
Around the same block is yet another church.  This one is Baptist.
...and another.
 Behind that last church is this little area that we can see is a garden in the summer.   I thought I saw this one is Catholic, too. 

I imagine this is a pretty busy block on Sunday mornings!

    I agree, VP.

    This is the area of the country where the early settlers in wagon trains came across the Allegheny Mountains to settle the Western US. As each group came through the mountains, some decided to stay rather than continue the hard journey West. They founded their own churches and many of those churches remain today.

    A city where we found the most churches clumped together was in Cumberland, Maryland. A few years ago we spent a few days in Cumberland taking pictures of the many churches and learning the history of the city. Fascinating.

    Nice looking churches, and all with a similar design. Interesting to see the architecture in different parts of the country.

    I have never seen so many places of worship in one town ! one thing's for sure the people living there are truly.......Blessed. :o)

    I like the new modern churches but there is something about the old school churches that is very solid and churchly.
