We Love Leftovers

Good morning,

We love leftovers.  Sometimes the second night is even better the the first.  Recently we had leftover night and had two comfort food favorites.

Above is sausage soup:  sausage, bacon, potatoes, turnips, carrots, celery, onions, water, salt, pepper all in quantities you want to add them.  That translates to:  "what you have available."  ;)  My Honey made this, we ate lots and lots, then had a little left over.
And, this is another comfort food: beef stew.  It's the usual, beef, potatoes, carrots, celery, garlic, onion, tomato sauce, salt, pepper.

We didn't have enough left over from the two previous nights for two servings of either one of these so heated them both and shared both.

With a little fresh bread, this was a wonderful leftover treat.

Do you like leftovers?

Enjoy,
Lois

  1. I like leftover stew, soup and chilli, and fried up potatoes the best. I usually only make enough for the two of us so that there aren't leftovers though. Your soup and stew look yummy. I hope you have a great day. Pamela

  8. I love leftovers! I usually make a enough for two meals to begin with, so that makes me happy. Recently I had leftover chicken from one recipe and used it for chicken fried rice the next day.

  9. Definitely like leftovers...some better than others...and I make this bell pepper casserole and it is definitely as good or better as a leftover. Also, like the fact that all you have to do is warm it up.

  11. Yes, we really like having leftovers and with only 2 of us dining at home, it is usually planned when preparing a meal. Leftovers this week included homemade tomato soup one night and meatloaf and mashed potatoes another night. The soup looks wonderful and I really like making soup!
