Good morning,
We are on board Freedom of the Seas making an unscheduled stop in Nassau, Bahamas, to land a sick guest.
As we pulled into Nassau, we saw another Royal Caribbean ship, Monarch of the Seas.
No matter where you live, you have probably seen ads for Atlantis in Nassau, Bahamas. Here it is!
As we pulled into port, guests on board Freedom were lining the decks to watch the action.
On the dockside an ambulance was waiting.
This is a closer shot of Monarch of the Seas docked on the other side of us.
As we waited for the passenger and family to be landed we watched the tour boats go by. We visited Nassau twice a week for six years while we were aboard Majesty of the Seas. I remember when that house out there on Paradise Island was for sale for quite some time. It was painted pink at the time. I like the new owner's choice of white. Interestingly, there is no road over there on Paradise Island. To access your property, you must come and go by boat.
There is also plenty of commercial traffic here.
Finally, the patient has been landed and we will soon be on our way to our next port.
There they go!
We are sailing back out now and I have a full view of Monarch of the Seas once again.
There's Senor Frog's over there. :)
And, the last shot is of a seaside hotel. How pretty!
There is always something different happening on a cruise.
All the best,
Lois
Wow...hope the passenger is going to be ok. I would love to stay at the Atlantis sometime...we visited Freeport Bahmas years ago!
ReplyDeleteYour boat is the very same we went on. Ours was called the Princess.
ReplyDeleteBoy the ships are so lovely inside right.
Have you been to the shows already in the boat or ship as we call them. I loved the shows.
Yes I know of the help one gets.
Thanks for sharing. Makes me want to go on one again. You are traveling for months right.
Good morning,
ReplyDeleteJan n Jer: We understand the guest was OK. It's a good thing we have excellent emergency medical service on board and can get to where we need to go when people need even more care.
sparkle: Our ship is Freedom of the Seas which is a Royal Caribbean ship. Princess is another cruise line - also with lovely ships.
Yes, we have been to the shows many times, but not since we came on board last week. We get to them once in awhile, especially when our daughter is on board with us. I have some pictures about what guests can do on board from when she was here last time that I'll post soon. Yes, we will be here through the middle of January. Christmas on board is absolutely fabulous. I'll surely show you pictures of some of the decorations when we get closer.
Thanks for stopping by and for your very kind comments.
All the best,
Lois
Every photo postcard perfect.
ReplyDeleteA lovely tour Lois, everything looks so bright and cheerful.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous look at Nassau. I hope the sick passenger will be okay!
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots! I hope that poor person has trip insurance!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I hope the sick person is okay. That would really spoil a vacation! Happy sailing!
ReplyDeleteGlad the sick person received care. I was in the Bahamas several years ago. A beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteI hope that passenger feels better soon! We took a quick visit to Atlantis a few years ago while on a cruise. The kids enjoyed seeing all of the fish.
ReplyDeleteYou don't want to get sick when you're on a cruise, but with the good medical service not as frightening as it could be.
ReplyDeleteHope it was not a life threatening situation with the passenger!
ReplyDeleteYou see a lot of interesting things in your travels...
