This Week's Flowers

Good morning,

This has been one of these Spring weeks when we had sunny weather then heavy rains, sometimes the same day.  Above are pink peonies getting ready to bloom.  Note the ants enjoying the sweet flowers, too.
We still have iris blooming.  We have many different colors of iris and they each seem to take their turn for a prime blooming time.
These peonies are all on the same stalk.  Incredibly beautiful!
Yes, I know this isn't a flower, but it is so pretty.  I'm so happy this little Japanese Maple is still alive.  A few years ago it was so dry here that we almost lost this little tree.  It is a fighter, though, and survived.  When it gets a little stronger, I need to do some grooming and shaping.  First I want it to have a good year and develop strong roots.
Moving on around the garden there are more peonies.  Oh, I so love these!
I'm so glad we have so many peonies because we have more to bloom every time the heavy rain takes out many of them in just a few minutes.

I am truly enjoying all the flower images on all of your blogs.  As I said last week, this is a gorgeous Spring!

All the best,
Lois

  1. Hi Lois, we have a single peony in the front flower bed, and like yours it is a pink one which also attracts lots of ants.

  2. I love Peonies! I only have one bush, and it's gotten drenched by all the rain. Haven't been able to pick a bouquet this year. I love to bring them into the house. So Pretty!! Love Iris's too. Used to have some beauties, but when the pool was built, they had to go...debbie

Other than that, we have all the same "stuff." You know why? I'm in Loveland! LOL! I just saw that you were in Cincinnati! Great to "meet" you :)

  18. Hi Lois!

Catching up here. My garden needs to catch up too. Yours is way ahead of mine and you aren't that far away. Interesting. My peonies are just showing buds, but they are worth waiting for.
