Picnic and Road Trip Weather

Good morning,

We are still on our road trip between Florida and Ohio.  We stopped at a rest stop in North Carolina where this family and many others were enjoying the weather for a picnic. 
Across the road in the truck parking area was a helicopter also making a rest stop.  ;) 
Back on the road we went under the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We have traveled much of the parkway in different seasons and have gotten fabulous pictures.
Then out of the sunshine...
 ...through a tunnel...
 ...and out the other side...
 ...where the sunshine made the spring green in the mountains appear to "light up."
 The last image today is of a barn roof advertising Ruby Falls.  On other trips we've been there as well as to nearby Rock City.  We don't see as many barn roof advertisements for those two places as I saw when I was a child riding through these mountains with my parents.

Tomorrow our journey home continues.  I hope you are enjoying the trip with us.

    I guess you'll be anxious to return home! Everything is getting pretty green in Cincinnati. You should have hijacked that Helicopter and made it home twice as fast!! Of course you would have missed all the scenery...guess it's better driving after all!...debbie

    My childhood had road trips on the same routes, Lois. Cujo's Cave in Cumberland Gap was on my list of favorite places to stop. Have a safe trip home.

    I would be so glad to be back in my house...but I suppose you are used to the trips and would probably miss them.

    I have done this route before a couple of times, primarily the Ohio to Florida version. I am curious where you end up in Ohio. Guess I need to keep coming back, eh?
