These images are courtesy of our daughter, Catherine. Catherine her friend went paddling on ten miles of the Little Miami River in South Western Ohio.
Catherine took along the Canon Powershot underwater camera that we had purchased a year ago for her to use while snorkeling in Coco Cay, Bahamas. Those images are here. The camera was perfect to have in the kayak and took very good pictures above the water, too.
Catherine and her friend brought their own kayak so didn't have to rent one of those canoes above.
This heron was among so many creatures she saw and photographed along the way.
Even other humans are so friendly, especially when you meet them on the water. :)
Turtles were sunning on every available spot.
Catherine was able to use the camera while her friend did all of the paddling so she got quite a few pictures.
Tune in tomorrow for images of the Jeremiah Morrow Bridge from the bottom.
Enjoy!
Best,
Lois

There's a photo on the wall above my computer, of my family going down the Little Miami River, but we were in canoes and my BIL helped build the Jeremiah Morrow bridge....all happenings of years ago.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun! Glad she took some photos to share.
ReplyDeleteAh! Paddling along and enjoying the peace and tranquility and scenery. . . my idea of fun.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome is this? What a wonderful, delightful day trip you've taken us on. I so enjoyed the refreshing views on such a hot summer day.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy you visiting with me...thanks for stopping by yesterday.
My Thursday Post Link: Nor-r-r-r-m!!!
Wanda and Yogi,
ReplyDeleteI have more images of Catherine's trip already formatted for tomorrow and the next day since she gave me so many good ones. Tomorrow the Morrow bridge is featured, then the next day is the end of her trip.
That is such a lovely area! I was thinking of you, Wanda, when I was formatting the images. Not only is the area so pretty, there is so much wild life.
Best,
Lois
I love canoeing but haven't done it in so long...Our oldest daughters name is Catherine as well :)

ReplyDeleteHi Lois, It is so nice to meet you. What a pretty area for your daughter to vacation in. I look forward to seeing more photos of the remainder of her trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing about how dad's photo was made; that was very interesting. I have a photo, made the same way, of my great grandmother.
Hope you enjoy today!
Fun trip. I could use some cooling off right now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these pictures :-) I especially like the turtle. He has just the right spot! We have an underwater camera too and we love it! So handy for underwater pictures and just pictures anywhere you might get wet. I still need to post my underwater Hawaii pictures.....thanks for making me remember them :-) What a fun trip she took in a canoe!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lois...Oh wouldn't I love to do that...I want a Kayak or a light weight canoe so bad!!

Lucky Catherine to be free to take such lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Glad she has lots of photo memories.
ReplyDeleteLois, I have been in a kayak once only and that was many years ago in Phuket, Thailand. I did not know how to paddle, my Quay Lo did all the paddling and I just sit and enjoy the scenery. Catherine's trip looks like so much fun. The place looks serene and beautiful. This makes me want to go paddling again!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I did something like that once long ago - It was wonderful until a storm came up and terrified us all! There was nowhere to hide... so glad the lightening that was hitting the trees and ground all around us didn't get us! But this looks so peaceful and calm - just as it should be!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
