Champagne and Chocolate Breakfast

Good morning,

My friend, Doris, invited me to her suite for a breakfast glass of champagne and chocolate as we entered St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies aboard Freedom of the Seas.
Her stateroom attendant's towel art bat greeted me...
...as did this little puppy in the chair.

But, the real view was watching...
...as our captain carefully guided our ship into port in St. Maarten.
Hanging off the side is one of the hot tubs on Deck 11 that I've featured here earlier.

What a beautiful way to start the day in St. Maarten.  Thank you, Doris.

Enjoy,
Lois

  1. Now I am on a cruise too! Well, a kind of :) I am sitting at home and following the Hurtigruten from Bergen to Kirkenes on TV. They are sending the whole trip live, 134 hours. They have just left Trondheim. Because of the TV there are a lot of small boats following the ship, and where there are small local communities people are out at the rocks greeting the ship with flags! It is so fun! I have been watching it a lot already and I am afraid I will not leave the TV when they get further north and the landscapes get more and more fantastic :)

I just read that in Seol in South Corea the Norwegian ambassador had made an arrangement so it is shown on TVs at the subway!! This is big!

  4. Good morning!

Tomorrow I will be on my own computer where I have enough band width to watch the Hurtigruten. :) At the moment, I am on a satellite connection and only do quick emails.

We have gone the route of the Hurtigruten and have sailed along side her on board Splendour of the Seas. We had all the bands and greetings when we sailed into port, too. It was fantastic! Pictures of us and the ship in Honningsvaag are here:

If you click on the quick reference/archives link at the top of the page, you'll see many more pages of pictures of the coast of Norway.

Thank you for the link, Marit! I will surely check it out tomorrow when we get into a port and I have my air card connection to a land tower.

Thank you so much, Marit and Montanagirl, for stopping by and for your kind comments!

    Very best,
    Lois

  9. Champagne and chocolate, sounds lovely. I can just imagine me sitting there having that. This morning I had rice crispies with skimmed mild and no sugar. There is no comparison. Great pics as always.
