Celebrating 40 Years Cruising!

Good Morning,

Our friends Harry and Doris Steele will celebrate 40 years of cruising aboard Royal Caribbean ships this summer.  Above is a picture of them aboard Royal Caribbean's first ship, Song of Norway, in 1972.
Here they are meeting Captain Andersen.

I just love the above hand written invitation to the Captain's Table and the typed menu.  The invitations are now much more formal as are the menus.  What a terrific piece of history!
I hope you can read the prices on the above cocktail menu!  Cocktails are 85 cents.  ;)
Above are images of their cabin and a visit to the Bridge.  Those ships were classics.
And, here she is:  Song of Norway, Royal Caribbean's first ship.

Thank you for the images, Doris, and for helping us walk down memory lane with you.  We'll be back aboard Freedom of the Seas in the Fall to celebrate your 40 years of Royal Caribbean Cruising with you.

It is fun to realize that Song of Norway pictured above PLUS the next three Royal Caribbean ships would equal the gross tonnage of Freedom of the Seas pictured in the header at 160,000 tons.

Wow!

Lois
