Good morning,
Here is a picture I took while we were recently on our trip home from Florida to Ohio.
I asked My Honey to stop the car so I could get out and get this shot. The log base of the barn was so different from the usual stone. The barn had recently carefully been painted this bright red and the roof is in good condition.
I saw no other buildings or people or animals nearby. This was just on a back road in North Carolina.
Such a pretty sight.
Enjoy,
Lois

What a unique and pretty barn...it certainly gets a lot of air circulation.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture. All barns should be that shade of red!
ReplyDeleteLove the old barns.
ReplyDeleteI would have stopped, as well. What an interesting structure. Don't you wish these old buildings could tell their stories?
ReplyDeleteNice shot. There is something about old barns that pulls.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual to my eyes! The log base is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Photo worthy Lois. I would have loved to go inside!
ReplyDeleteLove Di ♥
Now, that is BEAUTIFUL & unlike anything I've seen before! I'd sooo love to know the history behind the place!
ReplyDeleteWon't you come back next Monday evening/Tuesday morning & link it to my Barn Charm meme... =)
lovely place!!
ReplyDeletehave a nice day
Nice find, Lois! The construction is different and a little strange that there was nothing else around, but its fresh coat of paint shows it's being used and will be there awhile.
ReplyDeletethis barn is the same colour as houses I have seen in Sweden, love it!
ReplyDeleteGood morning,
ReplyDeleteI was excited to see and photograph this barn, too. I didn't leave the road to get the picture, but did step out of the car. It is on the Cherokee Indian Reservation according to my calculations of where we were, but I could be slightly off the exact location. We were wandering around on the back roads.
Thank you so much, everyone, for stopping by.
Very best,
Lois
So pretty! I love old barns!
ReplyDeleteAh yes! I remember seeing this barn a few days ago. How odd that the logs are painted, I think.
ReplyDeleteI like this and like you, I have never seen a barn with a log foundation either...I would love to know the story behind it.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual. Really nice photo.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that's a unique structure for a barn! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteNow this is really different...love that log foundation. I wonder how old this barn is!!! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteI can't say I've ever seen a barn like this one...Great find.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I'm so glad you linked up... it really IS a nice barn & very very red! LoL! =)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good book... I'll definitely be ordering it soon! Thanks! =)
