Here's a handy dandy little item I find so useful. Since I don't wear a belt, the clip on my cell phone holder doesn't do me any good at all. If I try to clip the holder on my pocket, I knock it off too easily.
The phone I'm using as a demo here is not my Blackberry which is smaller, flatter, and an even shape. The one I am using here is an odd shape so it is perfect to demo how to make a pouch to fit any size or shape phone, ipod, or other gadget. This post is as much about technique as it is a pattern to follow.

Cell Phone Pouch with Belt Loop Hook - Crochet
Materials:
#10 crochet cotton: 1 green, 1 blue
1" button
3.25 mm crochet hook
Hold 2 strands together throughout.
Bottom:
Ch 13 (or width of bottom of phone), sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (12 sc), ch 1, turn.
Work 4 rows sc turning each row.
Sides:
Ch 1, turn, working around all sides of rectangle just made, work in sc, working 2 st in each corner.
Do not join rounds.Continue working in sc until you have covered the side of your phone.
Button tab:
Place your phone inside the pouch and determine where to place the button tab (sample is 10 stitches).
Sc to the left side of where you want to place the tab, ss in next st, ch 1, turn, then work back and forth in sc to cover top of phone and down the front side of the pouch.
Hold button over tab just made to determine how many stitches are needed
to accommodate your button (sample is 6 stitches).Next row, 2 sc, ch 6 (or whatever number of st you need), sc, ch 1. turn.
Next row, sc in sc and over chain just made. Break off, weave in ends. Sew button under button hole.
Loop for key holder:Ch 5, sc in second ch in hook and each ch across. (4 sc), ch 1, turn
Work 10 rows or enough rows to fold around key holder.
Hold first and last row together and sc together.
Now hold loop just made to middle of back of pouch, sc through each st of loop and around st on back of pouch. secure tightly and pull ends under.
Place key holder through loop.

I used to go to the American Greeting Card company in Cincinnati. Went a couple of times with a busload of artists from NCR in Dayton. Was always fascinated with their work.
Now, I suppose, all of their artwork comes somehow through or off of the Internet and the many people with stuff on places like Flickr.
This is a great idea...since I don't crochet or knit, I can sew something like this.
