The Yacht Cakewalk

Good morning,

We see many beautiful sailboats and yachts out here while cruising around on board Freedom of the Seas.  This yacht Cakewalk caught my eye while we were in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.
Cakewalk was waiting to and finally did pull in and tie up on the dock at the right side of this image.  You can see many other beautiful yachts here also.
When I see interesting yachts I often look them up on line to learn a little of the history about them.
According to what I found on line, Cakewalk was built in the USA for owner George Gallagher of Denver.  She's a luxury yacht that can be chartered...
 ...for $1 million per week.

So, now when you're ready for a private cruise with a few friends, here's a great yacht for you!

Thanks for all of your good wishes for a good trip home.  There are a few more posts coming from here on the ship, then the trip home.  We're going through Cherokee, North Carolina again and look forward to seeing some snow.

Very best,
Lois

  2. You know, what a great idea! I think I'll take it for 4 weeks. It's just huge. I could probably take the whole family and not see them except for dinner. Wouldn't that be fun if you really COULD afford it and a pilot for a month!! ...debbie

  3. Will do, Diana. ;)

Debbie, according to what I found on line, there are 26 crew members on Cakewalk. That will include the captain, chief engineer, other deck and engine personnel, chef, and other hospitality personnel. Gotta have someone to make your bed, you know! It has 17 cabins and can accommodate 14 guests. We can bring our closest family and friends!

    Hugs,
    Lois

  4. WOW, I saw some fabulous yachts as well. We were on the Oasis of the Seas (on a QUILTING cruise, no less) and got back into Port Everglades on 2/5. It was a wonderful cruise and a fantastic ship! Did you ever get IN the hot tubs in the solarium? A spendiferous place to be as the ship is pulling out of port and the sun is setting!!

  6. Interesting story behind Cake Walk. I wouldn't want to spend that kind of money on any boat. LOL
