Valentine Scarf - Knit

Good morning,

That red scarf pictured above is a special order from My Honey.  He asked for a long, wide, thick red scarf to wear on our trip home through the mountains this month.  Of course, I quickly made what he asked for and there it is.  ;)

It's a very simple pattern that worked up quickly in #6 yarn and size 13 needles.  There is still plenty of time to make one or more for Valentine's Day.  The pattern is below.

Very best,
Lois

  3. Hello Lois
What a lovely thought - red is such a 'sexy' colour as well lol
The main body of the scarf looks like stocking stich so shouldn't the second row read:
K4 purl to last four stitches K4 ??
Let me know if I'm wrong
    Take care

  4. Cathy, you are so right. Thank you for pointing out the typo. Gee, whiz, it's the easy stuff that is so easy to mess up! I've corrected the pattern. This pattern is basically a huge gauge swatch. It is so nice, though, when made up in this big spongy yarn and My Honey likes it.

Thanks again for reading what I couldn't type and setting me straight.

    Very best,
    Lois

  6. Hmmm. I wonder if my husband would wear a red scarf. He usually won't wear anything except blue or grey (such a fuddy-duddy). I need to think about a Valentine's present!

  8. Good morning,

This particular red isn't very bright. There was another red available in the same yarn called Cincinnati Red that was much brighter; even though we are from Cincinnati I opted for the more subdued Tampa Spice. ;)

Thank you, everyone, for stopping by.

    Very best,
    Lois
