Our last port of call on our Freedom of the Seas cruise was St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies.
This port was followed by two sea days so we had plenty of time to enjoy the ship and take a few more pictures.
This is the Wilhemsen Library.
Arne Wilhemsen is one of the original owners of Royal Caribbean International.
It is most appropriate that the library on board is named for him.
This is the area of the ship where you can meet with a Future Cruise Consultant and book your next cruise.
The images next to the desks were taken in the ship yard during the building of the ship.
The above image was taken in the Royal Promenade. It is hard to photograph, but if you look carefully, you will see the artwork of a very large woman who has just dived through the circle of water bubbles and into the Royal Promenade. The "ribbing" in the ceiling represents the bottom side of a boat.
This is another view of a staircase in the Centrum.
This is unusual artwork in the Bull and Bear Pub.
As much time as I have spent on Freedom, the night I took these images was the first time I had seen these.
This sunset on our last night at sea wasn't quite as spectacular as the one the night before, but still quite beautiful.
And then, the Farewell Show. After the show we returned to our stateroom to pack the last few things and prepare to leave the ship in the morning.
Tomorrow morning we will leave the ship early and head to Savannah, Georgia. We'll be back on board Freedom of the Seas very, very soon.
I hope you've enjoyed our cruise with us.
Very best,
Lois

How beautiful Lois! I especially liked the library, what a great place to relax during down time!
ReplyDeleteLove Di ♥
That was very telling of how enormous Freedom of the Seas must be, Lois...the fact that you came across something new to see. I remember the beautiful diving lady from another of your great posts of the visual beauty of the ship.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there will be still other dicoveries for you onboard! :)
Great images. My, you have your sea legs for sure! The first and last cruise my husband ever took was on a "Troop Transport" to Okinawa. He got so seasick, he said NEVER again - and never has and never will get on a cruise ship! LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Lois xxxx
ReplyDeleteThis looks so lovely, Lois! It's getting nippy here in OH; wish I was in St. Maarten right now!
ReplyDeleteThe artwork on the ship is just amazing, and you keep coming up with more and more of it. Such a beautiful floating art gallery!
ReplyDeleteHello everyone,
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a very beautiful ship. We were only on board for one week for My Honey to attend meetings this time. It was so nice to be able to relax and enjoy the ship when the meetings were over.
Montanagirl, I have heard the same from others that their first and last sea experience was in the military. I understand completely why someone wouldn't want to repeat a bad experience of a moving ship. It's hard to feel this one move, though, but it still does bother a few people. Most wear the patch behind their ear and it seems to help.
Thank you so much, everyone, for stopping by.
Very best,
Lois
