Georgia to North Carolina - Road Trip

Good morning,

As you can see, we are still on the road and loving it.  We left our Hampton Inn in Georgia so early the sign was still lighted.
We have beautiful weather again today.  This was to be our vacation after all the other travel for meetings in Chicago and on board Freedom of the Seas.
I have many friends rising skyward out here.  I just love my cell towers so I can be on line and use my phone while My Honey is at the wheel.  ;)
We passed model log homes and dreamed of a home in the mountains.  One of my bloggy friends, Debbie of Happy Days, has a similar home in the mountains of West Virginia.  An image of her beautiful log home is on the header of her blog as of my writing here.
Here's another dream home that had a For Sale sign out in front when we passed a year or so earlier.  Either it was sold or the residents wisely decided to stay.  ;)
Ah, here we are in North Carolina!
The Fall colors are gorgeous and the mountains are in sight!  Yes, a vacation in the mountains!
We stopped at one of our favorite restaurants for lunch.
Can you guess where we are?
OK, here is the biggest clue.  ;)

Tomorrow we will arrive in Cherokee, North Carolina.  When we get to Cherokee, we'll stay for two days and hope to find more great images waiting for our cameras. With all the travel during the last few weeks, these are the vacation days we have been looking forward to with great anticipation. Our favorite souvenirs are the images we capture. We have been to Cherokee several times before and have never been disappointed.

I hope you'll join us again tomorrow for some images in and around Cherokee, North Carolina.

Very best,
Lois

  1. Don't know what it is about North Carolina, but both Bob and I really like it there. AND...our good friends live in Hendersonville, which is a great town. Enjoyed your photos!! Nice you can spend a few days on the way back instead of going directly home!! ...debbie

  2. I think everyone recognizes Cracker Barrel or at least their porch! Another blogging friend recently posted the restaurant's rocking chairs too, Lois...on their way 'to' Florida!

  6. Good morning,

Ah, yes, this is a real vacation. This is such a beautiful area of the country and we hit it at just the right time for great pictures.

On every trip we stop at a Cracker Barrel at least once. I love wandering around their store, too. On one recent trip I got some darling t-shits with Labrador Retrievers on them. The shirts were such a hit I wish I had bought more of them. Sadly, there aren't any more of them in the stores.

Safe travels to all my bloggy friends and their families!

Thank you so much, everyone, for stopping by.

    Very best,
    Lois
