Good morning,
I took these images as we were packing up after David's birthday party at his school yesterday.
This fellow was slowly walking across the ground near the parking lot when I noticed his brilliant green color against the mulch background.
As I came closer to take pictures he pulled up on a branch and turned his head to look at me.
He didn't seem to care that I was there. He was moving into the bushes where he might have been able to find something to eat. We've had a ten week drought so I am sure tasty bugs are hard to find this Fall.
My son came over to take a look and
Mr. Mantis still didn't seem to mind. Perhaps Mr. Mantis was in Mary's garden to pray with her. ;)

It has been dry Lois, but it did rain last night, maybe the mantis prayed for rain!

ReplyDeleteHe was a big one!! Yes, I'm sure he was praying for rain! We had a storm last night, but didn't bring much rain, only a lot of lightning and thunder! We had a nest of Mantas hatch this summer near the pool. Madison found them. ...debbbie
ReplyDeleteWow, neat photo's. I'm always running across things like this in my work. So much that sometimes I forget the wonder of it. If I had realized how interested you would have been I would have given you the chance to photograph the 12" Garden Snake we found in your front yard today. It crossed my mind, but I was hesitant to come knocking at your front door with a reptile in hand. Some folks are weird like that you know. :)

ReplyDeleteI would have LOVED to have seen that snake. :)) Snakes are very welcome in my garden to gobble up all those bad critters there, especially slugs.
